IML

Indaco produces an additive for plastic film manufacturers which is environmentally responsible leaving behind no harmful by-products. IML additive is the solution to cause commodity plastic resin (PE) to degrade and eventually biodegrade keeping you ahead of environmental concerns.

Our additive can be mixed with LLDPE, LDPE and HDPE suitable for garbage, shopping and t-shirt bags.

Plastic film products made with IML additive will photo degrade when exposed to UV light. Degradation is activated by heat, UV light and enhanced by mechanical action. Once degradation is activated, polyethylene film becomes brittle and breaks into tiny pieces which then biodegrade into carbon dioxide, water and biomass. There is no change required in the standard polyethylene film blowing process with the addition of IML additive.

IML additive does not alter the performance properties of plastic film prior to degradation. Additive blended at 2%-3% will have no impact on strength, sealability, permeability and printing.

IML polyethylene films are degradable according to ASTM standards D3826, D882 and D5510.
